Our Forever Family

PictureThis past week I attended a fireside by Sister Wendy Nelson. I was impressed as she spoke on her experience with family history work and felt a great desire to do a little of my own family history. The goal of this blog is help me teach my daughter all about our Savior. Family is central to the Savior's plan and I want Madi to know all about her family. So tonight's family home evening will be focused on our Forever Family. The picture above is filled with some of the most important people in my life. I want Madison to KNOW why they are so important to me. In the far right of the picture is Madison's name sake Grandma Fern. She has passed on since little miss has joined our family but I know they KNOW each other and will KNOW each other again someday. It is my desire to help Madison learn all she can about her ancestors so she will live up to the legacy they have left for her. On that note here is the plan for tonight's  fabulous home evening!

Lesson: Our Forever Family
Read and study talk by Richard G. Scott "The Joy of Redeeming the Dead" found here:

In this talk Elder Scott teaches us that we can ELIMINATE the influence of the adversary by immersing ourselves in searching for our ancestors!
We will discuss this talk and then Jer and I will share a favorite story of one of our grandparents with little miss.
Activity: Go to familysearch.org  and start filling in our family tree.
Closing Song: Families Can Be Together Forever
